T201: Project Finance Modelling

T201 is a two-day course on how to build a financial model, in order to evaluate equity returns and secure non-recourse debt (or ‘project’ finance). The course builds on the techniques and knowledge acquired in the T101 course.

Participants will learn to apply general business and non-recourse finance theory to forecast cash flows associated with ‘green-field’ projects and special-purpose project companies.

When the course is finished, participants will have constructed a fully-functional financial model covering the period from the beginning of construction through to the end of the project’s operating period.

Core subjects
Financial statements / cash flow cascade ‘road map’, construction finance, term finance, ratios, debt sculpting, equity valuation and blended equity internal rate of return, model optimization, debt service reserve accounts, shareholder loans

Target audience

The course is aimed at people who need to build, modify and understand financial models associated with project finance transactions, usually infrastructure related and including new, ‘green field’ and PPP/PFI investments.
The course is intended for delegates with some modelling experience, who have responsibility within their organization to develop or run a project finance model.

Conditions
Participants need to complete an online ‘Introduction to FAST’ course, which will be made available after you register for the T201 training. The introduction gives you an overview of FAST principles and Excel productivity techniques needed for the course.
